Greetings All,
I have 4 Win XP pc's connected wirelessly (an oximoron?) to a Linksys
router. All is well there. I bought my wife a new Sony Vaio with Vista.
She can connect to the home network to go online, but I can't see her pc
or and she can't see any of the other pc's.
Secondly, I plan on donating an older pc, which has a shared printer
hooked up to it.  I would like to have this printer used as a network
printer. Any ideas re a wireless printer server???

                     Thanks, Mark

I would check the firewall first. If turn off the firewall, can you ping
each other by IP? Or these search results may  help.

Mark,

I'd look first for a NetBT setting, or a personal firewall, on the new computer
running Vista.

Next, look at logs from "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config server",
and "net config workstation", from each computer, and diagnose the problem.
Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely
(download browstat!):

If I were you, I'd get a normal Ethernet printer server, locate it near the
router, and connect it using Ethernet.  Printers aren't really portable anyway,
so why not leave it in one place, and avoid cluttering up the WiFi spectrum with
print jobs?  WiFi is more designed for one hop links (computer to WiFi router),
than for two hop links (computer to WiFi router to printer) anyway.
