wireless adapter sleepingI have a bt wireless adapter installed on a computer (win xp home) that keeps
showing in tray with the red cross and an error message cannot conect to perferred network. KB has stated adapter maynot be WZC but it is as used on another computer. Power management is also on which was the other resolution but this is also turned on. A different wireless adapter which i borrowed worked ok. Any advice would be helpful. Hi
Your Wireless card is either "Busted" or it is Not configure correctly. Follow the process as describe in this page to find out what is wrong. http://www.ezlan.net/wireless.html Jack (MVP-Networking). another network, checked the configuration against another adapter on the same network and they match. It is like windows is not activating the network on the adapter as its showing signal and picking up the network but in the tray shows error. I have re-installed the adapter loads of time, changed the usb port that its connected to but it always shows as inactive. So it is OK and it is Not working on your computer. Unfortunately when the only fact known is that it not working there is No way to know why. As I posted before follow the process on the page linked above and find at which point it "Brakes". Examples. Does the Device manger shows correct installation of the card, can it obtain an IP, etc. Jack (MVP-Networking).
