Help with wireless printingmine, that should have been here in the first place: Show quote | Good evening all, | | I have a friend that I was able to set up his Compaq laptop to get Internet | connectivity using a Linksys WRT300N router. The router is hooked up to a | DSL modem, and there is *no* other computer using the modem--just the | Compaq. He's very happy with the set-up, and has coverage anywhere in the | house. | | Here's where I'm lost. He has an HP PSC2400 Photosmart all-in-one printer, | fax, copier, that *NORMALLY* would hook up to his laptop via USB cable. | | Is there any way that he can set up his all-in-one printer to print | wirelessly also? I would think he could, but maybe with additional | hardware. I also have no idea how I would configure his XP Pro OS to do | this, like what settings might have to be changed, and *where* those | settings lie. | | I'm sorry for being so long winded, and probably asking a stupid question to | begin with. | | -- | | Many TIA, | Curt | | Windows Support Center | www.aumha.org | Practically Nerded,... | http://dundats.mvps.org/Index.htm Hi
The printer can be converted to a Wireless Network printer by buying USB Wireless Primer server Card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833127074 However it would Not function any more as AIO only basic printing would work through the Network. http://www.ezlan.net/prtserver.html Jack (MVP-Networking).
