Cannot access other workgroup computersThe network in my home consists of the following components:
A Netgear WGT624 wireless router which is connected via ethernet cable to a Westell 2200 DSL modem. This recently replaced a DLink router which died. Computer "PC-A" connected via ethernet cable to the router. Computers "PC-B" and "PC-C" connected wirelessly. These both have DLink DWL-G510 wireless PCI Adapter cards. All three computers have the same workgroup name assigned. All three computers can access the internet OK. However, I cannot access shared folders on all three computers, even though they are set to share them. From PC-B, My Network Places only shows shared folders on PC-B and PC-A. From PC-C, My Network Places only shows shared folders on PC-C and PC-A. From PC-A, My Network Places only shows PC-A. PC-B and PC-C can access files on PC-A. PC-A cannot access files on PC-B or PC-C. Any ideas on what the problem is? Thanks In the D-Link's wireless security config (somewhere in there, just hunt for
it) there is a place where it can be set so that wireless clients can connect to other Hosts but will not allow other Hosts to connect to them (meaning it is "one-way"). Change that to open it up to allow the traffic. It does not effect wired Hosts, so that it why everyone can see "A" and themself, but not the other wireless Host, and "A" sees no one. -- Show quoteHide quotePhillip Windell www.wandtv.com The views expressed, are my own and not those of my employer, or Microsoft, or anyone else associated with me, including my cats. ----------------------------------------------------- "RicRob" <Ric***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:37E19651-69D3-45B3-85A8-11F0BB6F9412@microsoft.com... > The network in my home consists of the following components: > A Netgear WGT624 wireless router which is connected via ethernet cable to > a > Westell 2200 DSL modem. router configuration menus or the configuration on the two wireless computers that sounds like this. So I don't know.
