Wireless Connection active but no internetService Pack 2. My network connections are telling me I'm connected to the internet when I connect through it's Broadcom 802.11B/G card that is built in. But I cannot access the internet through IE or any of my programs. I also cannot access my local home network. I have the same problem when I connect it by cable directly to my router. My 2 other computers are having no difficulty accessing the router via wireless connections or cable. To further make matters strange, my laptop is accessing the internet to download windows updates and the error reporting function of windows also seems to be accessing the internet successfully. (Although, when it opens IE to give report - IE is still not working.) This selective internet access really has me baffled. I've tried running optimization programs, checking for viruses and trojans, checking my connection settings, taking unnecessary programs out of my startup, and a few WinSock fixes and have not had any luck. Any ideas as to what could be my problem and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated. I am considering reinstalling windows, but want to save that as the very last desperate resort. Thanks! the first step is to post the text output of

Referring to your Ipconfig it seems to me that your DNS Servers info is incorrect. I think it should be an address provided by your provider and not the address of your Default Gateway.
