Keep Losing connection to routerMaybe someone can help this laymen out. My once, always reliable connection
from my Dell Inspiron 700m to my Linksys router is now giving me a problem. The connection between the laptop & router becomes disconnected for no apparent reason. When I click on “available wireless networks†my router is there on the top with an excellent signal. When I click reconnect it does not. Then I click “repair†and the message says, Windows could not finish repairing the problem, for assistance contact the person who manages your networkâ€. I changed out the router and still have this problem. Could it be the wireless adapter is bad on my laptop? Can anybody help me with this problem? Dead in the water. for starters, post info on what brand wireless card, what version
drive and which windows operating system. did anything change in your environment? cordless phone? did a neighbor install a wireless router? did a driver get upgraded? did you get a virus or malware on your computer? posting the text output of ipconfig /all will also help On Sat, 10 Nov 2007 15:06:00 -0800, SAlders <SAld***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: >Maybe someone can help this laymen out. Wireless-G Broadband Router WRT54GL (Firmware Version: v4.30.11) I've been getting very familiar with my router and the configuration browser. I upgraded the firmware, reset the router and still no results. The security I'm using is "WEP" which has always been in place since I got it . Speaking of WEP, I noticed that everytime I enable it, in the router/browser I lose my connection on the laptop. When I go back in, and disable the WEP, my connection comes back and everything works fine. It's beyond me. Maybe something is not configured right on my Laptop? We're getting close. Your help is much appreciated in this matter.
