Access Point as wirlesscard.okey, Im trying to use Sitecom WL-130 Wireless Extender (can also be used as
Access Point) as a wirless card. more or less. Im using Vista, and Vista doesnt like my wirless. so I got spikes every 60sec. I havent found a single fix for it, so Im trying this. Connect WL-130 Access Point via TP-Cable to my computer. WL-130 Access Point connects to WL-173 (wireless broadband router). and gives me internet. But I cant seem to get my WL-130 to get the wireless from WL-173. and I know there is supposed to be a excellent signal where Im sitting. (as my USB Card finds it) Does this even work? or how do I fix it? thanks in advance. Hi
I am not familiar with your WL-130. However in order to serve as a Wireless card the device has to be capable to be configured as a Client Wireless Card. Wireless Modes - http://www.ezlan.net/Wireless_Modes.html Most of the Wireless Routers, Access Point, and Extenders can not be configured this way. Here is an example for a device that is build to act as a client, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833162168 Jack (MVP-Networking).
