How do I remove network references from my old Laptop??!!
jparizek -
31 Oct 2007 9:34 PM - 2 messages
I have a wireless Lan at home which used to consist of 2 laptops and a
desktop. I never "mapped" the drives, just accessed shared folders
among the 3 computers. After a time, I sold one of the laptops to a
friend and tried to remove the network references. The problem came up
when she needed to add new software and the computer came up with an
error "unable to locate \\desktop\shareddocs\my pictures\..." where
desktop was the name of the computer in my Lan that acts as the printer
server. I assume that the code that wants to find this old connection
is buried somewhere deep in the Windows files and I can't find it. Any
ideas on what I can do to resolve?
