I've used gpedit.msc to create and assign IPsec policies on domain and
workgroup computers. But does anyone know if IPsec policies can be
configured in XP Home?

Thanks...

I'm playing with a laptop with XP Home on it while I'm in here today. (Long
story...) Anyhow, you can add it as a snap-in with mmc.exe but there's some
limits. For instance you wanted, from the looks of things, to be able to use
this through a domain and XP Home doesn't support true domain functions.
(It's my understanding, and I may be wrong, that even using the TweakUI
function to logon to a domain doesn't actually give all the abilities of
logging on to a domain.)

Galen,
This is exactly what I was after - thanks!
Do you happen to know if IPsec policy can also be used in earlier versions
of Windows?

Again, in a limited fashion and through the use of this:

Note that it is a 2k page but here's some more information. Here's some
other things you might want to read about (not always located on 9x/ME pages
by the way):

And, last but not least, some more information from that crazy Cable Guy who
doesn't seem to put enough content on the web in my opinion. (I'm a fan of
their work you could say.)
