possible to delete a workgroup?

I'm seeking to delete a work group from my  home "network" because I want to
start over on the network setup. Currently I'm getting messages which
indicate I can't access the other workgroup computers, because I need
adminstrator permission to do so -- but I thought I was the administrator.

Situation started when the former computer which I used to create the
network died because of a power surge. I bought a new computer and have been
unable to integrate it, so I want to start again with a new workgroup name
(old network was MSHOME)

The network is set up using XP and the Microsoft MN-100 base station. It
provides a good DSL connection for my three computers, but I can't share
files.

I need help, I'm getting desperate, had someone over twice from the store
where I bought the new computer, but he couldn't solve the prob.

Bob,

Workgroups disappear on their own, when there are no computers with the
workgroup name on the network.  Instead of deleting the workgroup, which may or
may not "fix" the problem, let's figure out what the problem is, and fix it that
way.

Take a look at "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each computer.  Read
this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (download
browstat!):
