I cannot run the "network setup wizard' to join my home network because my
laptop belongs to a domain established for a company that no longer exists.
Can someone help me safely terminate my domain membership so I can join my
home network?

Assuming you can logon as administrator, right click on the my computer>properties>computer name>change.

.....and if you're doing this with anything other than the default
Administrator account on the machine, make sure you *first* change that
account's password to one you know, or you will lock your keys in the car.
