Account permission for workgroup accessI have a wired home network with 5 computers. All are members of the same
workgroup and they all share files. However, I want to lshut off one computer's access to all of the others (basically take it out of the workgroup), but I need one folder on that computer available to the others. Can I take this computer out of the workgroup, but still make one folder available to the other computers? Brossyg Is there a way to use a User Account on the computer to prohibit that user's
access to the workgroup of the other 4 computers? Show quoteHide quote "Brossyg" wrote: > I have a wired home network with 5 computers. on the guest account. Open a commandprompt and type: NET USER GUEST <passwordofyourchoice> Then, only those people who know the password will have access to shares. If you have XP Pro then it's possible to set user-by-user access to shares, but on Home the above is the only method. ------------------------------- An alternative Network-Logon for Windows: http://mylogon.net Say No to Preinstalled Junk: http://genuinewindows.co.uk All computers are XP Pro.
