Account permission for workgroup access

I have a wired home network with 5 computers.  All are members of the same
workgroup and they all share files.  However, I want to lshut off one
computer's access to all of the others (basically take it out of the
workgroup), but I need one folder on that computer available to the others.

Can I take this computer out of the workgroup, but still make one folder
available to the other computers?

Is there a way to use a User Account on the computer to prohibit that user's
access to the workgroup of the other 4 computers?

If you're using Simple Sharing then the easiest approach is to set a password
on the guest account. Open a commandprompt and type:

NET USER GUEST <passwordofyourchoice>

Then, only those people who know the password will have access to shares.

If you have XP Pro then it's possible to set user-by-user access to shares,
but on Home the above is the only method.

All computers are XP Pro.  How do I prohibit a User Account on this computer
from access to the shares on the rest of the network?

Disable simple file sharing on all computers, and define access
permissions for each share based on user accounts.

Ron Lowe and I have written an article with full details:
