Workstation Service (And Other Related Items) Won't Startdays of research on how to solve the problem of the Windows XP Workstation Service and other related items (RDR Device Driver, MRxSmb Device Driver, and Computer Browser Service, just to name a few) suddenly refusing to load and run, for unknown reasons. In my case I uninstalled Norton SystemWorks and Personal Firewall prior to installing Windows OneCare Live, but I can't prove that's what did the evil deeds in question. Anyway, I finally ran across two very valuable articles, and wanted to share them with any and all who may be having these same sanity-destroying problems: http://www.jasonhartman.net/2005/01/problem-starting-server-and.html http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=9252870#post9252870 With any luck one or both of these postings will solve your dilemma, hopefully in minutes rather than the many hours it took me to ferret them out. Oh and maybe, just maybe someone from Microsoft will take note and actually include the fixes in their Knowledge Base, since it's obvious that a siginificant number of users are experiencing these real pain-the-neck glitches. Thank you for sharing these information with us.
