Open Network Places second time does not workHi,
I can open the Network Places one time, and have no problems seeing all the shares I have on my other 2 PCs, and my NAS (all connected via a Gigabit switch). However, when I try to open Network Places again, it does not work, nothing happens. I can access the shares via My Computer, and I can set up new shares etc. Any ideas? KB It could be the master browser issue. What do you receive if using net view command?

It is only the My Network Places on the desktop which does not work the second time. KB Show quoteHide quote "Robert L [MVP - Networking]" wrote: > It could be the master browser issue. I have all the access I need, and the first time I start "My Network Places" all is 100% OK. I can switch to "View Workgroup Computers", "View Network Connections", but if I close the window and try to start "My Network Places" again, or try and go to "Other Places" - "My Network Places", the window simply goes into "Not Responding". However, I can still access all my shares etc. KB Show quoteHide quote "Robert L [MVP - Networking]" wrote: > This search result may help, > > Access issuesSYMPTOMS: When you attempt to connect to a network share, you may receive the following error message: \\Servername\share is not accessible. solved the problem. I have UPNP turned on in my Netgear Switch, but when I turned on the UPNP service on my Infrant NAS I cannot open up the Network Neighbourhood the second time. It hangs the process every time. If I turn the UPNP off on the Infrant, I can access it all without problems. I will talk to Infrant!
