Connected computers warning when you shut down XP ProWhen you are sharing files from one computer (not a file server, this is a 3
computer share) and that computer is going to shut down you used to get a warning that someone had files open and do you want to continue to shut down. It looks like in XP Pro that warning is no longer there. Is there a setting to make it give you that option? Thanks, Harvey Not that I know of. Even the server versions don't do this.
You can type NET SESSIONS or NET FILES at a cmd prompt to tell you who's on. Was just thinking, a safe shutdown applet might be a little coding project, I often shutdown servers thinking they're clear of users, only to hear a yell of protest from the office :( ------------------------------- An alternative Network-Logon for Windows: http://mylogon.net Say No to Preinstalled Junk: http://genuinewindows.co.uk Thanks, If you find anything like that could you let me know?
