VPN, intranet, blank pageThe connection from another company (client) to VPN is fine. But when trying to access our intranet, the page appears blank (not even Page Not Found). Firewall is off. I can ping the the domain name and ip address. I can access the internet. I cleared all my Temp folder and Internet Temp files. I also reregistered Urlmon.dll, Urlmon.dll, Mshtml.dll, Actxprxy.dll, Oleaut32.dll, Shell32.dll, Shdocvw.dll. These didn't make any difference. In the Event Viewer there is Event ID 40960 and 40961 "The Security System could not establish a secured connection with the server DNS/..." But this KB says "Ldap" instead of DNS. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/885887 Can anyone help please ? Thanks Best Hello Best,
Thank you for posting in the Microsoft newsgroup! From your post, my understanding on this issue is: your VPN clients having problem on accessing intranet web site. If I'm off base, please feel free to let me know. Regarding your post, please do the following tests(these tests are all on client side): 1.Access a share on the server (if the server hasn't a share, create a hidden one for test) 2. Try to access a sub-html Please tell me the following information: 1.Do all the clients have the same issue? 2.The OS and the corresponding service pack on the client and the server. 3.The authenticate method of IIS Please let me know the information above so that I can provide further assistance on this problem. I am looking forward to your reply. 1.Do all the clients have the same issue? No. Only this laptop. 2.The OS and the corresponding service pack on the client and the server. Windows XP SP2, Server 2003 SP1 + other updates 3.The authenticate method of IIS I didn't quite understand this question and where do I find this ? Other info: If I log in locally, there will be no problem with the VPN and access to our intranet. In order to check further please help to export the following registry on both the VPN client and on the server. Client HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanManWorkstation Server HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanManServer You mentioned firewall in the first post. Is that ISA? It does not seem to me that the issue lies at the server level because other machines do not have any connection problems. When I said Firewall I was mainly referring to the local built-in firewall (Control Panel). Cheers. Yes, I agree with you. Since there is only one client that has this issue, the problem should be on the client side. I just want to use the security settings on the server to check whether there¡¯s anything wrong on the client side. If you have concerns on this, collect the registry key on a healthy computer and the problematic computer is also fine. I¡¯ll compare then and try to find out what¡¯s wrong. And sorry for the mis-replied post. It will be removed soon.
