Losing connectivityAfter booting my computer, I have internet connectivity for about 3-4 minutes
before losing it all; whenever I try to access a website, IE indicates it's trying to connect to various IP addresses rather than sites; no connection at all even though my connection screen indicates full connection; right IP, right gateway, right subnet, etc. I have tried 2 different nic's and same result; I have tried ipconfig and nothing. I have 4 computers on this gateway and only this one is experiencing this problem; any ideas? Open the Run command and type in: ipconfig /flushdns click [OK] ipconfig /renew click [OK] netsh winsock reset click [OK] Also be sure the Power Saving Option on the NIC not turned ON, to do that go to the Device manager and under Network Adapter click your NIC and select properties then click On Power management or Power Option and uncheck the box for; [ ] Let the computer Turn this device OFF for power saving. Reboot the machine and try to connect. Also I will scan this machine for malwares and Viruses: http://www.lavasoft.com for Lavasoft SE for personal use only. HTH. Regards, nass ------ www.nasstec.co.uk I tried everything you suggested, including running my spyware program again;
rebooted and the connection lasted for only 3 minutes; maybe I should just start over and reinstall XP and everything else. In addition you should know that there are some "Internet Junk" that is not detected by the regular Spyware scanners and need special utilities, try to Run the HiJack program ( http://castlecops.com/zx/Merijn/hijackthis.zip ) Interpretation engine for HiJack output here, http://www.hijackthis.de/en Jack (MVP-Networking).
