Do NOT use Vistause Vista, for a whole lot more visit: http://badvista.fsf.org/portal_factory/Document/search?portal_type=rss_item&sort_on=getRssDate&sort_order=reverse&getRssID:list=2 IBM will not use Windows Vista - but will move to Linux desktops http://www.neoseeker.com/news/story/5436/ Government agency tells schools to shun Vista http://news.zdnet.co.uk/software/0,1000000121,39285414,00.htm Becta report slams Microsoft academic licensing, dismisses Vista http://www.businessreviewonline.com/os/archives/2007/01/becta_report_sl.html Long list of Vista bugs http://blogs.zdnet.com/Ou/?p=402 Vista is not an option http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=36653 The other side of the coin, that inseparable other face of Vista, is DRM.
Personally, I don't want a computer with DRM built-in. I don't suppose many people do. I don't use my computer to play licensed content, so all that DRM stuff is just a liability, increasing the chance of nasty things happening. If there's one reason I won't use Vista, that is it. Linux? Like most people I've never really spent the time learning how to use it effectively, beyond setting-up a php webserver with it (which suprisingly turned-out to be easier than on Windows..) If I was faced with the situation of no longer being able to use DRM-free Windows though, the choice between Vista or Linux would be a no-brainer. Hi
Historically a similar situation was at the turn of the 20th century. At that time it was the people in the "Horse and Carriage Industry" advising people who want to switch to the New Horseless carriages (AKA Cars), No to do so cause it is dangerous. I guess you are still using a Horse and a carriage? Jack (MVP-Networking). You also find it acceptable that Vista must shut OFF video and audio output unless Vista degrades the signal first? The thread is off topic and your reply is even further off topic. Why not
post this to the Vista newsgroups? Is it maybe because it's old news that has been debated there endlessly?
