Cannot check File and Printer SharingWhen I view Local Area Connection properties the File and Printer Sharing for
Microsoft Networks box is not checked. When I check the box I get a popup that asks if I'm sure I want to DISABLE File and Printer Sharing even though I am trying to activate it. No matter whether I say yes or no it will not leave the box checked. This is an XP home machine with SP2. Is there some way to reset this function? -- Bob In article <64A06AEE-9E4E-4875-9537-1FDA43311***@microsoft.com>,

Thanks for your reply. I am still trying to find time to try your suggestion which seems very logical. I am hoping it will work because I was thinking a reinstall of Windows and all applications was my only option. I will let you know. -- Show quoteHide quoteBob "Steve Winograd [MVP]" wrote: > In article <64A06AEE-9E4E-4875-9537-1FDA43311***@microsoft.com>, > Robert <Rob***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > >When I view Local Area Connection properties the File and Printer Sharing for > >Microsoft Networks box is not checked.
