VPN share connection problems.help me out or point me to the right direction. Or the right thread (= Let me first say the VPN server does function correctly. We have clients that connect to it, and access it, all day long. This is a single, xp pro laptop, that is having issues. 1. The VPN connects successfully. 2. The VPN server replies to ping request. 3. I can pull the IP address of the VPN server in a browser, and see the website hosted on that machine 4. When I try the "net use" command, with ip address, i get error 53. 5. When I try "net view" command, with ip address, I get "workstation service is not started" (same happens with net view vpnserverhostname) 6. When I attempt to "net start workstation" it says Invalid Service Name 7. Windows firewall is off - so to the best of my knowledge no ports are being blocked. 8. I have uninstalled the anti-virus security software. Any ideas where to go next? Thanks a bunch! Can you telnet port 445? Or these search result may help,
