Bring the computer out of standbayI want to bring my WXP Pro with SP2 computer out of standbay remotely.
If I check the option "Alow this device to bring the computer out of standby" at the tab "Power Management" of the Properties of my NIC, many traffic do it: VNC, ping, etc. But if I check "Only allow management stations to bring the computer out of standby", any traffic network put the computer out of standbay. What does mean "management station"? How can I control when I want to put the computer out of stanbay? Thanks in advance Hi
When using Network Card Power Saving any LAN's traffic gets it out of Standby. If all the three are checked and it is working correctly only Magic Packet Will Wake it up (WOL). Like this, http://www.ezlan.net/nic_wake.jpg A utility for Magic Package here, http://www.depicus.com/wake-on-lan/wake-on-lan-gui.aspx About WOL here, http://www.ezlan.net/WOL.html Jack (MVP-Networking).
