how to play games over internet

I want to play diablo hellfire over the intenet connecting to a friend.

I wonder how and if this is possible.

it is possible to either use an ipx service or to connect by modem.

Is it not possible to connect directly between oor computers without a
classic modem?

I have no idea how to setup this at all, can someone help me , pls..??

both have win xp and lan connections..

Each game has its own method of Internet or multi-player operation so you
would need to check the Diablo Hellfire documentation and/or Web site to see
if this is possible.
