Printing over VPNHey everyone,
i currently have 2 office's in which i have a vpn router (office a) and a database app. (office b) connects to (office a) using MS vpn client and i use remote desktop to run various apps. Everythings works great except printing. I know i need to share the printer in (office b) and my remote desktop need to be mapped to that printer. Problem is, when i connect to the printer i get an error saying the printer is no longer availble. Is there anything special i need to do with the sharing or connecting of the printer. thanks lee Assuming you also receive Event ID 1111, 1105 or 1106, you may need to install the printer driver or upgrade the RDC software. to connect to a remote desktop in office B and to print to a printer in office B, to redirect print output back to office A, or to process work in office A and print it in office B? These arrangements affect how printing is managed in a Microsoft VPN / RDC environment. However, if you establish an IPSec router-to-router VPN, and keep your two offices on separate subnets, with pinters connected directly to the network in each office, printing between office A and B then becomes as simple as printing within an office, and it won't matter where the work is processed.
