DNS ok, pings okay. Actually solved it by accident (ish) tried to upgrade the driver on my netgear WG111v2 wireless adaptor. The upgrade was a bit disasterous in that my computer crashed. Recovered it but it took out my antivrus. To get things rolling again i uninstalled the drivers etc (although to start with the set up file was corrupt so it couldn't initate the uninstall) and reinstalled it. This appears to have solved my problem and everything seems to now be working fine. Thanks for everyone's help woof!
