auto assigning of IP add.i have a DSL internet connection at my hotel room. i am not able to connect
to the internet. it is supposed to assign an auto IP add to my comp. however, every time i try to log in, its shows that there is limited or no connectivity. the maintainence guy came over and checked my system. when he connected his laptop, he connected immediately. he checked all my settings but couldnt find any fault. he suggested that it was probably a virus that prevented an automatic IP add being assigned to my comp by the network. i ran an anti virus check with AVG and Mc Afee as also with a couple of free anti spywares, but didnt find any fault. when you click the settings tab in the local connection, its shows an IP add of 169.254.67.130 and a sub net mask of 255.255.0.0 which i think has been assigned by windows itself. the thing is any other comp with the same settings is able to connect while i am not able to. somebody, please help me...
