Windows XP Home Edition - Kids computer so I do not what has been done but
the network connections for a wireless card and the NIC card have vanished.
Try to add the connections back but I am getting a messages that the user
does not have the permissions to add a small office or home connection. Not
much you can do as far as modifing user access on XP Home. Looks like you can
be a Computer Admin or a Guest. Any advice would be appreciated.

Log in as an Administrator.  Check in Device Manager that the NIC etrc are
there.   Then add connections in Network Connections.
