Using Resources in Win Prof XPI have a windows XP Prof machine, and I have administrator privileges
on it. I have disabled the guest account using the properties in Computer management. When I try to use the resources on this machine from any other machine e.g \\computername\c$. I get a window with username and password. The username is always filled with \\computername\guest, and only password filed can be filled. I need to enter the username and pass but the "guest" is always filled. I have gone and tried many different techniques but no luck; I always get the user name filled as guest. Can someone please guide me on what to tweak in order for me to get a window where I can type username and password? I have even created a special account but I don't get the opportunity to enter user name. All machines are workgroup. On 7 May 2007 13:16:34 -0700, amir20***@hotmail.com wrote:
