Internet Explorer Connection and relatedI have recently installed a Dell Lattitude D520, with WindowsXP. The odd
thing is, that it cannot browse the Internet via a private network at home. The networks are okay. I've tried several. It gets an ip adress, DNS and stuff like that. Internet explorer keeps saying "Page cannot be found". Pinging is impossible. When I take the computer to the office, all works fine. When I try another domain-related laptop (so it seems not to be a domain issue fot that matter), it all works fine. This goes beyond my reach. Can anyone help me out? =?Utf-8?B?RXJpaw==?= <E***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in

Control Panel->Internet Options->Connections Tab->Lan Settings Having "Use a proxy server.." checked without also checking "Automatically detect settings" combined with a proxy server at work could explain your situation. Try unchecking all boxes for use at home. HTH, John Hi John,
yes, unfortunately I have. I checked all the ordinary issues I can possibally think of. When I try to connect over a mobile connection (pcmcia-phone card), it doesn't work either, although it gets a dns, ip and gateway adress of the mobile provider. certain DNS server settings. The question remains, why did the Toshiba work?
