Can't ping SOME computers on XP workgroupI'm stumped on this one! We have a small workgroup consisting of 3 xp home users, 1 xp pro user, 2 printers, and a 2003 workgroup server. From the xp pro box, I can only ping 2003 workgroup server and the internet router. I cannot ping the two printers or any of the xp home boxes. I really only care about getting to the printers. Some steps I've taken: 1) Made sure Win XP firewall was NOT en-abled on both computers. 2) Made sure File Sharing and Printer Sharing are enabled on both computers. 3) Netbios over tcp/ip is NOT enabled. 4) All computers are DHCP 5) All computers can access the internet 6) All computers have current updates and service paks. Interesting thing, it looks as if norton AV used to be installed on this computer (the xp pro box that can't ping xp home or printers). I downloaded nortons program that is supposed to wipe out any trace of their files or registry entries. I've heard of similar issues where norton AV has been involved causing network problems? Could this be related? I'd like to think that any traces of norton left over would not cause network problems. Anyways, I'm at a loss here. Thanks in advance for all your help! "I cannot ping the two printers" Do the printers have IP to they attach to a computer?

Hi Robert, thanks for the reply. The two printers have IP addresses. They are not directly hooked up to any computers.
