XP Intercomputer transfers with ethernet cable?I have a new laptop and I want to transfer a bunch of old files from an older
XP computer to this new XP laptop. Can I use an ethernet cable to do this? How would I set that up? Doing it over a wireless network takes ages. Hi,
Yes but you need either a special Ethernet 'crossover' cable. Or, use 2 Ethernet cables plugged into a hub or router of some kind. The most basic DSL or cable router/modem usually has 4 Ethernet ports. Shove each notebook into that. You can run the home networking wizard then and away you go. (In theory ;-) CreateWindow http://mymessagetaker.com Stop using those paper phone message pads make the computer work for you.
