Why is windows limited in the network bandwidth it uses?
The best performance I've got so far is 8%
Typically it's around 2%

There seems no advantage to using a GB network card, GB hub, and GB
interface on my NAS.
I was getting 20-50% of the bandwidth of my 100M card, now it's 1-8% of a
1000M card - hardly a stunning improvement !

Go here: http://www.dslnuts.com/software.shtml and check out CableNuts. The
software allows you to make changes so that Windows can more efficiently do
it's thing online.
