parallel network between windows xp and dosI have been trying to setup a parallel network between a Windows XP
machine and a computer running DOS 6.22 and Windows 3.11 and have made absolutly no progress does anyone out there have any idea on how to make this work. Oh boy, that takes me back... Those were the days.
I don't think this would be easy. Depending on circumstances, a better approach might be to put in LAN cards, and use Win3.1's networking capability with a crossover LAN cable. This uses IPX by default, although a TCP/IP stack is available. Thus you could either add IPX to the XP machine's network setttings, or else install the TCP/IP stack for Windows 3.1 You should then be able to connect to a shared folder on the XP computer.

Could SOMEBODY respond to the question I asked over a month ago??? Transferring files from my old computer to my new computer MN-700 wireless router disconnecting Is sharing sub-folders on XP workgorups inherently "flakey"? file sharing, some share and some don't Connection using workgroup thru router is very slow Replacement Router...Limited or No Connectivity slow PC after server replacement Logon problem--missing domain. |
