I added a computer to the network.  To test it I gave it the name
New_Warehouse.  After testing completed I changed the name of the computer
to Shipping and reconnected it.  I use a backup server (MIRRA) and when I
connect it calls the computer Shipping on New_computer.

I searched the entire computer including hidden and system files and could
not find a reference to New_Warehouse.  I then removed the backup server
configuration data from documents and settings on the computer, uninstalled
the backup server and then re-installed.  when it came back up it still
called the computer shipping on New_Warehouse.  Where on the computer can I
find the reference to New_Computer and/or eliminate that name?

Thanks

Check the DNS/WINS server and make sure the computer registers the computer name.
