can't access network places folders.......I have 1 computer and i was able to access my network places folders until
a couple of days ago. Now it says that the folder name is invalid and won't let me in. The couple of times that it accepted the folder name, it asked for user name and password but when i entered the same username and password that i have been using it won't log in...I have no idea about all of the diagnostic work, im pretty technologically challenged, im sorry...I have no idea what to do about this. Read this article with an open mind. <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/10/irregularities-in-workgroup-visibility.html> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/10/irregularities-in-workgroup-visibility.html And make sure that NetBT is consistently Enabled on all computers. <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2006/04/netbios-over-tcpip.html> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2006/04/netbios-over-tcpip.html Or look at "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config server", and "net config workstation", from each computer, and diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!): <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/troubleshooting-network-neighborhood.html#AskingForHelp> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/troubleshooting-network-neighborhood.html#AskingForHelp Please let us know if any of these suggestions are of any help. What you learn may help others in the future, and that's the purpose of these forums. -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
