Morning,

I have several computers in my house and they are all networked together. 2
are using XP MCE and the rest are using XP Pro.

What i would like to know is, from the main computer is there a way of
connecting to the other computers and updating them (windows updates for
example) without actually being at the computer? if so is it easy to use?
and is it part of windows ?

any suggestions would be much appreciated

Andy Middleton

Windows XP Pro features Remote Desktop, you can then control the mouse,
keyboard and desktop. However, you need to acknowledge messages on the screen
before you can connect, which means running up and down stairs!!

I recently came across www.logmein.com (which is free), once it is set up
you can access the PC at anytime, from anywhere.

Remote Desktop, as noted before, is perfect for that purpose plus...

*  its free
*  built-in to XP Pro and XP MCE
*  you don't need to rely on a third-party server to connect to your other
PCs over your local LAN

Sure, use Remote Desktop (RDP)... Both XP Pro and XP MCE can act as RDP
hosts...

RDP works very well for what you want to do...
