Replaced Switch with Hub, now have "limited DSL connectivity/no connectivity"I'd appreciate some help with my little problem. I've browsed this group & didn't see exactly what I was looking for, so any assistance would be great. Currently I have Yahoo DSL set-up at my home. The DSL Modem is connected to a Router. When I first moved in, my roommate had set it up so the router would connect to a switch that would branch ethernet cables to his room & mine. Everything was working fine. For some reason (after getting the XBox 360 Live), he replaced the switch with a Linksys hub, & at that point I received the "Limited connectivity" warning & was unable to connect to the Internet. At first I thought it was a bad hub, so we replaced it with another exactly like it, & got the same results. Then I thought it was my CPU, so I tried plugging the cable into my laptop, & then my roommate's laptop, every time, same "Limited Connectivity" result. When the hub was removed & the router sent directly to my CPU, it works fine. I wanted to note that prior to moving in here, I was using an Earthlink DSL Router connected to the Linksys hub & never had any problems. I'm pretty good with computers, but don't have much experience with Networking hardware, so if anyone can point me in the right direction, or if you may have a remedy, it would be appreciated. I work in graphic design & it makes my life a lot easier to have 2 computers easily accessible with net access, hence my need for a permanent solution. Thank you for your time, --J. check the hub for a uplink button or port..place the networking cable from
the router into this port or press the uplink button. Show quoteHide quote "KACH" wrote: > Hello all, > I'd appreciate some help with my little problem. Unfortunately, what you suggested is what I
had done. There's no uplink button & the T1 cable coming from the router is plugged into the "Uplink" port. --J. with DSL but usually you have to register your mac addy with them to connect at all. If that is the case you need to get them the new mac address.
