How I can send messages to my colleague using windows xp and small office network, our computers are connected with each other via router. Winchat... Go to Start -> Run and type winchat at the command line. Net send... Go to Help and Support and search on the string net send for the proper syntax. MS Portrait... The syntax goes like this. net send computername or IPaddress "message" message must be enclosed in quotes as shown. But for this to work the messenger service of the machine where you want to send msg. must be be started, because to receive the messenger service must be started.
