networkingI just bought a new computer and added it to my network. I have three pc's
and one laptop. All access the internet with no problem. The new one in the network neighborhood sees only itself. On all of the others on the network, the new one shows up as an icon, but when selected it says that I do not have access to that computer. The other three share files and printers and i have run the wizard numerous times on the new pc which has media edition. One other thing. If i select to add a network place on the new computer i can actually pull up the other computers on the network and open files, but the other computers cannot add the new one even when adding a network place. Does this make sense to anyone and can you help me fix it? Hp will not help, and linksys only makes sure i have internet access and then they consider their job done. Meantime, my new computer is high and dry. What versions of Windows are on the other computers? I've found that on
peer to peer networks WinXP doesn't play nice with Win9x. It can be made to work but it's more trouble.
