Edition. In additon to running the wizard I had to do the following: 1. Changed Node Type from Peer-Peer to Broadcast 2. Uninstalled all protocols other than TCP/IP 3. On Advanced TCP/IP settings WINS tab, changed Net BIOS from Default to Enable(Don't know if this was necessary but did it anyway) 4. On my Norton 2006 Anti Virus permitted ports 137-139 These steps were taken on both computers. Disclaimer: I am not an XP expert, far from it. I picked up all this information from this site. This may not work from you because there are other versions of XP that may not work the same way. -- Show quoteHide quoteGeorge "Doug Sherman [MVP]" wrote: > Yes, generally the network setup wizard is all you need: > > http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en- > us/hnw_setupw.mspx?mfr=true > > You will also have to enable sharing on the printer: > > http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/honeycutt_july2.m > spx > > Doug Sherman > MCSE, MCSA, MCP+I, MVP > > "pclax" <pc***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:85072B4C-EB7E-461E-A22B-49F26D881A76@microsoft.com... > > I have a desktop and wireless laptop.
