Request suggestion for sharingHi,
I use a laptop with which I share data with another desktop. There s another standalone desktop which requires to share the Internet connection which I have on my laptop. Right now I only have a one to one crossover cable between my laptop and the data sharing desktop. What would be the simplest cost effective way to accomplish both, data sharing with one desktop and internet sharing with another one? Thanks Ramesh Ramesh wrote:

Malke It's not clear whether your present setup allows you to be on the Internet
and share data over the cable at the same time - ie. the laptop has two adapters. Also, the answer depends on how you connect to the Internet. In any case, assuming you connect through a cable or DSL modem, your best choice is a router. In order to network the 3 computers you would at least need to buy a switch or a hub, and you could probably find a router with a built-in switch for about the same price.
