My Network PlacesNeed help please.
I have a Linksys G SRX200 Wireless Router on my main computer. My remote PC, desktop version, incorporates the Linksys G SRX200 Wireless Adapter. I can access files from the main computer to my remote. On my remote, when I click My Network Places, it will not open 99% of the time. When it does, it may show the shared files on my "main" computer, but they will not open. My signal strength is 108MPS - It just seems that the My Network Places program is corrupt? - It worked before up until 2 weeks ago. I have rolled back to the earliest restore points to no avail. All else works fines on the remote pc. NO new programs have been installed, virus's and ad-ware are "none". Have defragged and cleaned all temp files. Your help and thoughts would be appreciated. There are several other possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem. Read this article with an open mind. <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/10/irregularities-in-workgroup-visibility.html> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/10/irregularities-in-workgroup-visibility.html You might look at "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config server", and "net config workstation", from each computer, and diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!): <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/troubleshooting-network-neighborhood.html#AskingForHelp> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/troubleshooting-network-neighborhood.html#AskingForHelp -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
