Hi,

I use Briefcase to synchronize folders between two machines. I find that if
the source machine is shutdown, the briefcase machine takes a few minutes to
display the contents of the folder.  Any idea why this is?

Also, I thought I would try SyncToy, but it requires I install .NET
Framework 1.1.4322.  I already have version 2.0 installed!?!  Do I really
have to install the backlevel version also?

..NET 2.0 is not backwards-compatible to .NET 1.1, so yes you need both.

Hello Bob,

Thank you for using newsgroup!

I agree with our MVP Richard's opinion. .NET 2.0 is not
backwards-compatible to .NET 1.1.

I have exactly the same problem, even if I don't shutdown my machine.

Were you able to solve this problem? How?

(I don't have "SyncToy").

Thanks!!!

I'm not Bob, but I play him on TV.

Briefcase is old and clunky and I don't know that you'll get a lot of
replies related to it.

You can download it :)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/prophoto/synctoy.mspx

(and yes, you can have .NET framework 1.1 and 2.0 installed at the same
time).
