hooked with cat 5e cable from the modem to my pc. Im getting a message "Limited or no connectivity". I unhook the wire from my PC na d hook it in my laptop- it works fine. I had my pc cleared of everything and reset to original specs so I could start from scratch. Help would be very appreciated Thanks Steve

Right now, your cable service is used to the MAC address of your laptop computer. You'll have to reset the modem, to get it to accept the desktop computer. And when you're done, you will have to repeat the process, to use your laptop. <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/07/connecting-different-devices-to-your.html> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/07/connecting-different-devices-to-your.html You would be better off buying a NAT router, so you can connect both of your computers simultaneously, and to each other. <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2006/01/proper-network-design.html#Router> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2006/01/proper-network-design.html#Router -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
