This Program is used internally by PackageFromTheWeb......Hello all.
I have us the instruction found in the following web page : http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/northrup_03may16.mspx to set up remote access to my computer (2 of them actually) which worked great and is wonderful. However ever since I did this on both computer I cannot install any other software anymore. Any time I try to open an installation exe file I get the following "PackageForTheWeb Error" error message which reads " This program is used internally by PackageFromTheWeb. It should not be executed directly." These are pre-existing programs that were already on my computer and have been installed successfully in the past. and as previously mentioned this is happening on both computers for which I have set up the Remote Desktop access.

PFTW is an Installshield component. I've seen this message before with faulty downloads, but never when installing other software. Might it be that ..msi packages have become associated with Installshield instead of with the msi installer? I suppose it's possible. But I have not Idea how to go about checking or
correcting it if that is the case. I have done a repair/upgrade install on one of the computers and the problem still persists. Any idea how I can check or correct this if it is the case? Thank you. number of installation file that either give me the PackageFromTheWeb error or "The setup files are corrupted" or various other "files are corrupted" messages. Keep in mind these are all happening on file that have previous been installed successfully.
