Failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection.I'm working on a friend's laptop, trying to get it to access the wireless
router, no luck.. I connect it to the router with a cable, still no luck. It recognises it's connected but gives me a 0.0.0.0 IP, and if I try to repair the connection it tells me: "Failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection." When searching for Wireless networks, it actually finds the network we have but just won't connect. Following advice I found via Google I edited the nettcpip.inf file to allow TCP/IP protocol to be uninstalled under network settings.. After a restart I then re-installed it.. Still nothing. Any ideas? You might also try Winsockfix from here or another respected source - http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4372.html - but since your wired Ethernet connection is working fine, I'm not sure this is the answer to your problems. hi
Is there any other pc connected wireless via the same router .. if yes check the ip address on that pc . Make sure that router's DHCP is enabled . If all that dosent work connect the pc to the modem directly to check if there any connectivity . If it works contact the router mfd for technical assistance regards Rishi Show quoteHide quote "Ansette" wrote: > I'm working on a friend's laptop, trying to get it to access the wireless > router, no luck..
