Cant connect to network. We have 2 pc`s trying to connect to the internet. We are using a netgear
router. However, one of the pcs does not connect to the network at all, we have tried wireless and an ethernet cable. Just kees saying "aquiring network address" then "little or no connectivity" and it wont connect. All the hardware is fine and it works on the other computer. DCHP is enabled, ive checked all settings, and we cant even ping the router, does anyone know whats wrong? Ive even disabled all firewalls but still no joy. Hi
In General, you can debug the Network Settings of a computer by following these steps. Step One. Check the Network parameters in the Computer's Device Manager. Make sure that the Network Card drivers are installed correctly; i.e. there is No IRQ conflict, and No Ghost installation. http://www.ezlan.net/faq#ghost Step Two. Verify Basic network setting in the OS: http://www.ezlan.net/Installing#verifyIf the above two Steps indicates that every thing looks good but functionally it does not work. Step Three. Check (and repair if necessary) the Socket Layers, Winsock, and or refresh the TCP/IP Stack. http://www.ezlan.net/clean#refreshnet Jack (MVP-Networking). all the antivirus and firewalls on the computer, there must be 5 anti spyware programs and a couple of firewalls, ive tried disabling them, but could this be causing the problem? Should I try un-installing them all? Its my girlfriends dads computer and he likes all them type of programs on there for security!!
