Remote shutdown using 'shutdown'I am trying to shut down a remote computer which shares my UPS. I am using
shutdown -s -m \\MicrosoftNetworkComputerName and I get an "access denied" error. I feel I should be running some kind of server on the remote PC but I can't find out what. I have explored all manner of ways of enabling remote access. I can access shared folders on that machine. Any help would be most welcome. If not, shutdown won't work. What operating system - name and edition - is on each computer? -- Cheers, Chuck http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem - it's a normal response from experience.
