I just got a new latop and internet service at home and laptop came
pre-installed with windows xp prfessional, but now here's my problem i try to
connect to windows live messenger after downloading it online and it gives me
an error message "your firewall may be blocking windows live messenger from
connecting to the service. please review your firewall settings". I've
checked the windows firewall setting both ICF and ICS is disabled, but i

Do not disable your firewall!  Immediately activate it again as soon as you
read this!  You are putting your machine and your personal information at
risk.  You will need to tell your firewall (you don't mention which
firewall, windows native or some third party application) to allow Windows
Live Messenger to have access to your system.
