'Page cannot be displayed' in IE, but internet programs are workinPlease help me with my connection problem. I cannot access any websites on Internet Explorer (both 6 and 7 version) saying 'This Page cannot be displayed', but the internet programs such as Windows Live Messenger and Skype are perfectly working and even enable to send files through the messengers. I have already tried almost all the advice from help and suppport and windows support website. These are what I've already done but still not workng with IE: -Windows Firewall program has already been disabled. -Deleted cookies, files and restore defaults in Internet Options. -Repair/Renew/Reset TCP/IP using command prompt as well as manually using registry keys -pinging the IP address -Repair the relevant Local Area Connection and troubleshoot and update its driver -Using Help and Support's Network Diagnostics tool by scanning the system -Remove IE from Add/Remove Programs and installed IE 7 but it is still not workng. I found that whening Pinging IP address, all the packets sent were failed 100%. I tried to restore the system to the earlier point or several earlier points. The other problem is that there is 'No change made in system restore' after restarting the windows, it said. I have been trying to fix in any possible way that I have read. Still, I cannot open any webpages (all respected websites). Please help me what I should do so as to be able to start using IE again. The funny thing is I could still use Skype, Windwos Live Messenger and any internt programs perfectly, even transferring files using these. I am looking forward to hearing from you. There are half a dozen that you should try, if not a DNS or MTU problem: <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/problems-with-lsp-winsock-layer-in.html> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/problems-with-lsp-winsock-layer-in.html -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
