Folks:

Whenever I look at a DVD, I always notice the following structure:

First there are 2 folders: AUDIO_TS    and    VIDEO_TS
          AUDIO_TS is always empty
VIDEO_TS contains the following file formats: VOB, IFO, etc

   *   Can anyone explain to me why this particular structure ?
   *   What is the purpose of the various file formats: VOB, IFO, etc ?   I
know VOB is for the actual content. I use Real Player
   *    Can any of formats be used for security (anti-copying) purposes ?

Appreciate any explanations plus references that would allow me to get
additional information.

Thanks,
Jo.
